Model Y Front Trunk HEPA + Carbon Air Filters

This was an easy filter to install, the filter with the rubber was a little tight to fit in but the ease of the install was simple.

I discovered Vion from a YouTube recommendation when when learning how to replace my hepa carbon air filters myself. The quality is great and slightly cheaper financially compared to the Tesla store. It was time to change my filters as there was an ammonia-like smell coming from my old ones, and now that I changed them with the Vion brand hepa air filters, that smell is gone!

Additionally, their customer service was great! I ordered other things, but decided that I didn’t need those things yet and was able to reach out via Email to cancel part of my order successfully, Thanks Luke!

The Vion filters worked great and I was happy to have the tools that Vion included with the filters. I was surprised that I had to remove a lot of screws, and the filter housing, to do the filter change out. This is not because of Vion but because of the Tesla design. Removing the housing was easy AFTER the filter cover screws were removed but some of those screws were a problem for the Vion tool because it was not possible to use a straight screwdriver/tool (like included from Vion). I had to use a fairly special tool that would bend to get to some of the filter cover screws. I would not expect Vion to send such a tool but important to know that, depending on your model, changing this filter may require special tools so plan ahead! Also, after I as finished with the filter change, I tried to clip back in the plastic cover (not related to the filter) and several of the clips broke off way too easily and fell down into the car (No way to retrieve them. I hope they don’t rattle later on). Again, a Tesla design issue but now I need to find new clips so the cover stays in place. This might be something Vion can/should offer for sale.
